Worum es geht
PulseMonitor nutzt die Webcam, um den Herzschlag zu messen – ganz ohne Sensor oder Wearable. Die Idee dahinter: Bei jedem Herzschlag pumpt das Herz Blut durch die Kapillaren unter der Haut. Das verändert die Lichtreflexion der Stirn minimal, aber für eine Kamera erkennbar.
Die Anwendung läuft vollständig im Browser, greift auf die Kamera zu und wertet die Farbschwankungen in Echtzeit aus. Kein Server, keine Installation.
What it's about
PulseMonitor uses the webcam to measure heart rate – no sensor or wearable needed. The idea: with every heartbeat, blood pulses through capillaries under the skin, causing tiny changes in the light reflected off the forehead. Subtle enough for a human, but detectable by a camera.
The app runs entirely in the browser, accesses the camera, and analyses colour fluctuations in real time. No server, no installation.
